THE PUNTERS
The Punters is a dynamic and innovative collection of five of Newfoundland's most seasoned musicians. Drawing from alumni of bands such as Figgy Duff and The Plankerdown Band. The Punters combine elements of rock, blues and world music with Newfoundland traditional folk song and fiddle tunes to create a very unique sound.
Though together only since July 1995, The Punters bring a Staggering 75 years of musical mastery. The impact has been nothing short of Phenomenal.
Already a club favourite in St. John's, the Punters has also entertained over 20,000 at the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival and the annual, and infamous, George Street Festival.
Buoyed by the tremendous response to their original tunes and their driving renditions of traditional arrangements. The Punters have released their debut self titled recording . They have also been featured on NTV, CBC and MuchEast and have performed live on the World Wide Web for Microsoft's online magazine Mungo Park (http://mungopark.com).
