Eighteenth Century English Fort
Established in the early 1700's to
defend the residents of the south
side of Trinity Bay from French
attacks during Queen Anne's War.
Cod Fish Hatchery
Constructed in 1889 to improve
the cod stocks of Trinity Bay.
Learn about the technology used
in the venture over a century ago.
Dorset Eskimo Site
Artifacts have been discovered
dating to approximately 500A.D.
and it is believed that these
people camped on Dildo Island for
the purpose of seal hunting.
Beothuk Indian Encampment
John Guy's journal of 1612,
suggests evidence of Beothuks
living on Dildo Island.
An Archaeological survey of Dildo
Island is planned for 1995
