The Beach Cottage

In 1975 Harry and Patricia Hamlyn took over a hotel named The Beach Cottage from the Hunts. They renovated the Beach Cottage and turned it into a full scale restaurant and pub. It was no longer used for a hotel. They later built a seperate motel nearby. The restaurant quickly built up a fine reputation and attracted many guests. In 1984 it received the Restaurant of the Year Award for Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Beach Cottage now closes for the winter months, but during the rest of the year, patricia Hamlyn, the manager, continues to offer the same service that people have come to expect at one of Holyrood's finest landmarks.
