
Green Stonefly
- Hook: Wilson low water hook from Partridge Co. in sizes 6 through 12
- Tag: one layer fluorscent green floss halfway up body and lacquered with clear head cement
- Butt: none
- Tail: bright green floss or synthetic living fiber to end of tag material
- Body: 2 layers of fluorscent green floss or dubbing
- Rib: gold wire
- Throat: Kelly green hackle
- Wing: dyed green Squirrel
- Head: fluorscent green floss (laquered) with spot of black head cement for eyes
- Comments: This fly was originated by Rob Solo from Corner Brook, Newfoundland. It is an imitation of a hatching stonefly found on the west coast of the island. The salmon's memory of feeding on these flies as parr seems to make this pattern attractive to them as adults.
