Passed away peacefully and courageously after a brief illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, Ruth Halfyard of Cavendish, aged 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Albert, 1982 and son Cyril, 1966. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories, her five sons: Ira (Linda), Dildo, Wesley (Brenda), Oshawa, ON, Fred (Cheryl), Calgary, AB, Scott (Hilda), Cavendish, Levi, Cavendish; eight grandchildren: Cindy (Danny) Ring, Boyd (Madeline) Halfyard, Kurt (Laura Jane) Halfyard, Mark (Michelle) Halfyard, Trina (Brian) Kamm, Amy Halfyard (Clayton), Russell Halfyard, April Halfyard (Bradley); ten great-grandchildren: Robyn, Rebecca, Megan, Casendra, Daniel, Willem, Miranda, Taylor, Kayleigh, Isabel; one great-grandchild, Robert; also lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friendds. Resting at Cavendish United Church, Cavendish, Thursday, February 2nd, 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from Cavendish on Saturday, February 4th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Cavendish United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Cavendish United Church Memorial Fund. Miller Center on Saturday, May 15, 2004, Winston Hillier of Blaketown, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his father Charles; father-in-law Wilson Smith; niece Wanda Temple and nephew Terry King. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Loretta (nee Smith); daughters: Brenda (Cecil), Lisa (Reg); son Wade; two loving grandchildren: Dakota and Nicholas; mother Elizabeth Piercey; sisters: Shirley (Will) Temple, Beulah (Arthur) Parsons, Bernice (Richard) Thorne; mother-in-law Isabel Smith; also lovingly remembered by a large number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Rested at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo. The funeral service was held on Monday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blaketown. Interment followed at Anglican Cemetery.
