He died 3 on Aug 12 1998 in Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear, Conception Bay, Newfoundland from a lengthy illness at age 56 years and was buried 4 on Aug 14 1998 in United Church Cemetery, Lower Island Cove, Conception Bay, Newfoundland. John married Judy.
DEATH:
1. From the August 13, 1998 issue of The Telegram:
"ROBBINS, John Caleb - Passed peacefully away, after a lengthy illness, at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, August 12th, 1998, John Caleb Robbins of Lower Island Cove. Aged 56 years. Predeceased by parents: Nellie and Peter Robbins. leaving to mourn , wife Judy; son Dean; daughter April; sister Mary Moore (Max); aunts: Winnifred Lewis and Irene Robbins; special friend Guy Wheeler; also a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Hopkins Funeral Home, Northern Bay. Funeral to take place on Friday, August 14th at 2 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Lower Island Cove."

"HILLIER, Gladys (Smith) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, December 2, 1999, Gladys Hillier, age 52 years of Blaketown. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Hughie; two sons: Stephen (Janice), New Harbour, and Mark, St. John`s; two daughters: Tina Griffin (William), St. John`s, Sarah Russell (Stephen), Blaketown; one grandchild, Leah Russell; mother, Agatha Smith; brother, William Smith (Gaye); three sisters: Beatrice Thorne, Ruby Hunt (Edward), Marina Pitcher (James); and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Holloway`s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Funeral Service will take place at St. Barnabas Anglican Church on Sunday, December 5, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Blaketown. Donations may be made to the family. Deepest sympathy is extended to the Hillier family."
