"SIMMONS, Ethel L. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, May 28, 1998, Ethel Simmons of Greens Harbour, aged 87 years. Predeceased by husband Ambrose, 1964. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughter Ella (late Norman Sooley), Hearts Delight; son Mack (Minnie), Greens Harbour; daughter Myra, Interfaith Home, Carbonear; son Cyril (Peggy), St. John`s; brothers: Stan (Dot), Alberta, Lloyd (Myra), Ontario, Jack (Cherry), B.C.; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Greens Harbour from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Greens Harbour. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in her memory gratefully accepted to the Diabetic Association or the Salvation Army Band Fund, Greens Harbour. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo. 'Safe in the arms of Jesus.'"
