"LAHEY, George - Of Heart's Desire, Nfld., passed away peacefully at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on Tuesday, October 5, 1999. Mr. Lahey was 58 years old. He leaves to mourn his loving family: wife, Ruth Lahey, Heart's Desire, Nfld.; daughters: Tina (Jerry Coombs), Ontario, Sue Anne (Jim Oates) Mount Pearl, Nfld., Cynthia Lahey, Mount Pearl, Nfld.; grandchildren: Melissa and Marshall Coombs, Ontario, Keaton Oates, Mount Pearl, Nfld.; brothers: Patrick "Paddy" (Josephine) Lahey, Heart's Desire, Donald (Alice) Lahey, Heart's Desire, Howard (Frances) Lahey, Heart's Desire, Maurice (Margaret) Lahey, Heart's Desire, John (Phyllis) Lahey, Heart's Desire, James (Thelma) Lahey, Heart's Desire; sisters: Mary Margaret (Walter Whelan) Heart's Desire, Ann (Leonard Penton) Heart's Desire; step-brothers: Ignatius (Louise) Woodford, Heart's Desire, Gerald Woodford, Ontario; step-sisters: Rose (Robert Critch) Alberta, Debra Woodford, Heart's Desire. The Family will be receiving relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Mortuary Chapel, Heart's Desire, Nfld. from 10 to 12 noon, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. The Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9th, 1999, from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Heart's Desire, followed by the Interment at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Heart's Desire. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the George Lahey Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Slade's Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear."
