"WHALEN, Sarah Blanche - Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, October 8, 2001, Sarah Blanche Whalen (nee Roberts) in her 94th year. Formally of Brigus, at the time of her death she resided at the Country Haven, South River, along with her many friends. Predeceased by her husband Ernest (1984), sisters Alice Miller & Florence Williams, brothers Jack Roberts, Frank Roberts and sister-in-law Margaret Roberts. Leaving to mourn two sons: Lindy (wife Lillian), Coley`s Point; David (wife Winnie), Spaniard`s Bay; six grandchildren: Cheryl-Lyn (Randy) Trask; Rod (Kym) Whalen, Charmaine (Stacey) Dixon; Leigh-Ann (David) Moores, Kimberly (Leonard) Hall, Kelly (David) Styles; also ten great grandchildren. Three sisters Jean Adams (George), deceased; Emmie Barnes (Maxwell) deceased; Mae Jones (Reginald), deceased; two brothers Elvin (Mallie) Roberts, Olsen (Nev) Roberts; sister-in-law Bertha Roberts and brother-in-law John Miller, also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton`s Funeral Home, Brigus until 12 Noon on Thursday. Funeral to take place on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at 2 p.m. from the United Church, Brigus. Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Brigus. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Broughton`s Funeral Home, Brigus. Visitation Hours: Wednesday, 11 a.m.- 9 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. - 12 noon.
