"CLARKE, Edgar - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 20, 1999, Edgar Clarke of Carbonear, age 62 years. Retired Assistant Administrator, Carbonear General Hospital. A member of various groups: Official Board, Bethany United Church, Past Member of Community Health Board, Past President and Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Carbonear and recipient of Mel Osborne Award for 25 years of outstanding service to Kiwanis. Leaving to mourn wife Caroline I. "Callie" (Jackson); one son Colin (Heather), Carbonear; one daughter Michele (Gordon) Case, Mount Pearl; grandchildren: Adam Case, Devon and Katelyn Clarke; one brother Eric (Barbara), Carbonear; one sister Grace (John) Howell, St. John`s; four sisters-in-law: Vera (Hector) Sooley, Heart`s Delight, Elva (Stanley) Pye, Harbour Grace, Janet (John C.) Pauls, Welland, Ontario and Audrey (Terry) McDougall, Edmonton, Alberta; eleven nieces; two nephews; special friends: Herman and Jeanette Walters, Carbonear; other relatives in Cavendish and Islington and a wide circle of friends. Resting at Noel`s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Friday, October 22. Funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the ICU Dept., Carbonear General Hospital or to Bethany United Church, Carbonear.
