 Newfoundland music
Newfoundland's music scene is up and running away. Every
day there are new or improved bands and performers coming out of the woodwork. Don Walsh is a veteran of the Irish/Traditional scene in St. John's, and has put together a great collection of links to local music.
Another good source for traditional Newfoundland music is Pigeon
Inlet Productions, a small but important production company formed in 1979 by Kelly Russell (Bristol's Hope, Figgy Duff, the Planks, Irish Descendants) It promotes and preserves our unique cultural (musical) heritage. They have to date released many recordings
of Newfoundland traditional music, recitations and compilations.
They also organize and put off various events such as Culture Club, Buttons
and Bows, and Dance-Up in St. John's, all in aid of preserving and promoting
our musical and oral history.

Science, Nature and
the Environment
If you're into science, nature or the environment,
these are just a few places you can visit. My first choice would
be The Fluvarium, the only public
one in North America, where you can gaze into a living stream in all seasons, and view frogs, trout, salmon, eels...you can even watch the trout spawn in the fall...It's also where Llewellyn works as an Environmental Interpreter
Dicovery Channel Canada's online website
is EXN.net, a great site for up to
date information on recent Nature, Science and Technology developments
around the world.
If you're into space stuff (astronomy and the like), check out the Space Telescope Science Institute, where you can view the latest Hubble Space Telescope pictures of Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and tons of deep space photos... well worth it.
And finally, of course, perhaps the best source of world news anywhere... the
