Dear Suzuki friends, It's with great sadness that I deliver the news of Steve's passing. Below is his obituary as it appears in the Telegram. Hope you can all come to pay respects on Wednesday afternoon. WOODCOCK, Stephen E. of St. John’s, NL died suddenly of a heart attack on December 22, 2005. Leaving behind his beloved wife, Hannah; his parents Alexander and Winifred Woodcock of Cambridge, ON; his sister Linda Woodcock of Toronto, ON; brothers Robert, wife Meg and David, wife Yvonne; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; also his devoted mother-in-law Mrs. Thelma Reed of Malvern England and his brother-in-law Steven Reed of Sheffield England. Stephen was well known for his music and skills in making and repairing string instruments. His workshop in St. John's was an open door to fellow musicians and friends. A soft-spoken and gentle man whose love of family, friends, music and life were inseparable. He will be greatly missed and well remembered by all who met him. Funeral Service at Caul’s Chapel, December 28, Wednesday 2 p.m. Cremation to follow.
