La Scie is serviced by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.
It uses a phase 3 power unit with transformer capacities of
3 MVA and 16.7 MVA. Voltage range from 12 500 to 25 000.
Total consumption of electricity, at peak periods in 1991,
was 2.9 MVA. The source of electricity is the Bottom waters
terminal station hydro units at Venoms Bight and Snook's
Arm. There has been at least 5 or more interruptions in the
last year. Most of these interruptions in service are all
due to weather conditions, upgrading of service, and
repairs. The residential rates for 1991 were $16.64 + 6.472
cents/KWHR. The commercial rates were $18.94 + 8.508
cents/KWHR.
