Divine f-holes, platting, asymptotic C-links

Summary: unpredicted July94 pre-new-moon high
         unusual EQs. net writing sample.
         lituus space, lemniscate time.
         ten-dimensional heart.
         post-new, post-all-nighter, post-alcohol mild problems

Details: About July 6-8, 1994 I had an unpredicted but low level, not too connected, wobbly/playful high. This began closer to new moon than some, perhaps due to a later M-class solar flare (which I found out about later). On July 8 I had to do sound for Kootenay Loop (with Meghan de Villiers filling in for my friend Tammy Fassaert and Michael Brooks filling in for John Reischmann), a hot bluegrass group, on Koerner's Pub Patio at the UBC grad centre. Everything else went smoothly, but for the first half hour I had a lot of problems with a funny reverb from the standup bass mic. I eventually solved this by reducing some low frequencies in the monitor EQ. Later a band member (Jake) said that there under the trees the sound was better than many big stages he had been on (outdoors helps, though bass has to be boosted in the mains a bit). The interesting thing is that the main and monitor EQs looked like the integral signs (f-holes) on the bass.

But I had some alcohol and then proceeded to pull an all-nighter on the Internet, posting wobbly and not very good obscure poetic juvenile/drunk crack(of new moon)pot stuff to various newsgroups.

e.g., (to sci.astro, on jupiter impact):

Sounds like a low cal cometh to me,
And pubs in BC should turn on CBC.
To hear the hissed images, whee
Big red spots seen by mote notary
...
But it may not have been the same orientation of the sideswipe,
and do we know the mass of the comet (black string of blue pearls).
What if there are tiny errors in gravitational theory which may rear
up, cobra-like, to surprise. These tiny jewels could involve
replacing straight metrics by liscuute path lengths (of curves that
asymptote to straight lines) and might demolish our house of cards.
[did I mean speed of light asymptotic to constant near gravity well?]

(see note below explaining? the non-word lisacuute or liscuute)

maybe a serious raddish got translated
by a redish series to a red Serius
which later was found not to be read
but did have a serius radius
                            oh, no?

On Zenna Henderson's books on The People (which someone else
described, in which the word platt is a magical working of
weather, for example; I haven't read them yet):

to a young platter
-------------------
when you platt
you are platted
and unless careful
can get splatted

Re: Tao of physics

breath all, a misty dowgma

and a few more, over 20 in total, some more juvenile/indecipherable.

A minor correction about the word liscuute, which I had originally spelled lisacuute: this was a badly remembered combination of lissajous, lemniscate and lituus, but I think I meant lituus.

In September 1994 I posted stuff about a "ten-dimensional heart," perhaps entirely artistic, and repeated the mistake. I may have more coherent stuff about this in my files.

Sept94 stuff:

Math's dictionary [Math is in Welsh tradition the little bear in the sky
---------------- or a great druid, mentor of Gwydion]
lemniscate time
liscuute space [replace with lituus space?]
lisajous with us [actually spelled lissajous]
I am leaning towards seven dimensions: three the usual (or mapped to liscuute space) spatial dimensions, one the usual (or mapped to precessing lemniscate) time, two imaginary (so complex math with two imaginary axes, probably one is like a spatial length and the other is angle related), and one other time dimension (could be like 1/t or a window of time or a rotation or twist of time). I'm not sure of the topology but it appears to be self-contained, breathing and self-similar.
------------
end Sept94 quote

Perhaps the lemniscate time idea may be related to the Mayan calendar or Mayan flower loops, and the flower loops on the dust jacket of the hardcover edition of The Silmarillion, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Now for the post-new-moon problems of July. About 8 or 9 a.m. on July 9 (or 10?, the Saturday). I headed home, and when there put on Sarah McLachlan's song Trust from the Touch CD and sang along "sometime soon for all to see, the walls are slowly breaking down, someday soon we'll be free." After that I started feeling a touch shaky and could not sleep so took 4 mg of haloperidol and slept it off fine. After that I resolved not to drink during a pre-new-moon high and to avoid all-nighters. Plus I later found out that there had been a M-class solar flare a little later in moon phase than Aug/Sep91 and June93, and this one came on a bit later and took me a little unawares. Hence if anything starts close to new moon I would be very careful to avoid any intensity after new moon. But occasionally in normal mood months I have done some strong rituals the night before new moon.

Sometime in 1994, summer I guess, a huge eagle swooped down very near/above me on Kits Beach, I guess making sure owners of small dogs were keeping them on leash as the signs said. That was awe-inspiring.
